Scott Chappell started his hairdressing career at the Marc Young salon in the Arndale Centre Poole, Dorset (now The
Dolphin Shopping Centre). In 1982 he opened his salon for men
using the technical skills found in ladies hairdressing combined with
conventional barbering techniques to create a unique style of barbershop.
After trading for two years in the Poole salon it was necessary to move to larger premises so on 24th
November 1984 the Mansfield Road
salon opened. Since then it has established a first class reputation for
traditional and contemporary hairdressing.
The salon operates an appointment system which
means clients are given the time that makes them
want to come back again and again.
Scott has been a Senior State Registered
Hairdresser for over 25 years so clients can be assured that he has an unrivelled
level of expertise in cutting mens hair.
November 2007 will see the 25th
Anniversary of the business, this is due to a loyal clientele that receive
excellent service from a dedicated hairdressing team. Scott has cut the hair of
many stars of stage and television including Freddie Starr, Bill Owen, Geoffrey
Hughes, Mathew Kelly, Lionel Blair, Stefan Dennis, Ruth Madoc and Su Pollard.
Sports stars include cricketer Ian Botham, speedway riders John Davis, Sam
Emolenko and Alun Rossiter, ex rider and now England Speedway manager Neil
Middleditch.
Stylist Jo Squibb has worked at
Scotts since October 1998 and has become a very popular stylist with both the
young and senior clientele. She is a City & Guilds qualified hairdresser. In
addition she also completed an Advanced Hairdressing Course and has worked in
some of the best salons in the area. Jo has earned a reputation for being
innovative and capable of creating the latest styles.
